The company’s positioning towards traditional commerce or e-commerce affects directly its processes and strategy. The main difference between exercising traditional commerce and e-commerce is that in the former multiple media (like magazines, letters, mail, fax, etc) are used while in the latter   everything is digital.
Definition
Traditional commerce
Traditional commerce means communicating (ordering, paying) with customer and supplier using different applications in many time-consuming different steps .
E-commerce
E-commerce means processing of information using one digital application (EDI or Internet) and  only a few quick steps .
Positioning
Positioning is a plan showing the situation and setting priorities of the company towards other actors of the market.
Interactivity
Interactivity characterises a system when it is in a steady dynamic process of data interchange between many equal and free access system users at the same time.
